Coverage on every trip
Aspen insurance is required for each rental day and is placed with Knight Specialty Insurance Company. Coverage is subject to the policy’s terms and limits.
Your terms, documented
Sign a rental agreement for each reservation and keep a downloadable copy. Review the vehicle’s mileage allowance, travel restrictions, and return requirements.
Pickup that fits the vehicle
Coordinate pickup with your host. Some vehicles offer delivery or contactless pickup; availability and any delivery terms depend on the host and listing.

Message your host about pickup, questions, and your return. Trip details and messages stay together in your Aspen account.
Need a little more time?
Request a trip extension from your account. It must be approved by your host, and added rental days include booking and insurance fees.

Review and approval take place before pickup, so allow time for your checks. A reservation or payment alone does not mean you’re cleared to drive.

Create your renter account
Sign up as a renter and provide your contact details, driver’s license information, and a license photo. Consent to license review and a background check; both approvals are required before your trip can start.

Find your car and review the total
Choose your dates and compare available vehicles. Check the daily rate, mileage policy, delivery options, and whether the car allows out-of-state travel. New bookings are for leisure/personal use, not rideshare.

Sign, pay, and get ready
Complete your rental agreement and payment. Pickup access requires payment, a signed agreement, and approved checks. Eligible contactless access details become available starting two hours before pickup.

Check the car, then enjoy your trip
Review vehicle condition, pickup mileage, and fuel with your host. Keep trip communication in Aspen, follow your agreement, and return at the scheduled time with the agreed fuel or charge level.
Before you drive
Know your responsibilities.
- Required insurance
- Aspen insurance costs $29.00 per rental day. Personal, credit-card, or third-party coverage cannot replace it, and the fee cannot be waived.
- Mileage, fuel, and incidental charges
- Mileage limits vary by car. Return with the agreed fuel or charge level. You’re responsible for damage during the rental and applicable fuel, toll, ticket, cleaning, or other charges under your agreement.
- Return on time
- There is a 12-hour grace period after the scheduled return, then a flat $20.00 late fee. At 24 hours late, the host may recover the vehicle. Request an extension before your trip ends; approval is not automatic.
- Luxury cars and maintenance
- Luxury rentals require a major credit card; debit and prepaid cards are not accepted for them. If the vehicle needs an oil change, contact your host promptly so they can schedule it.
